Dataminer claims a new Assassin’s Creed game could be revealed soon

Assassin’s Creed Shadows has already secured Ubisoft a much needed win, with the sprawling open-world game being one of this year’s best sellers. However, it seems a reveal (or maybe even a surprise drop) of a new Assassin’s Creed game is about to happen. A notable dataminer has uncovered what they believe to be evidence of an all-new AC experience, and it’s not the recently dated Claws of Awaji DLC for Shadows. The dataminer whittles the possibilities down to two potential suspects – the heavily rumored remake of my personal favorite in the series, Assassin’s Creed Black Flag, or the upcoming multiplayer spinoff codenamed Assassin’s Creed Invictus.

That’s right, as well as reveling in this week’s huge AC Shadows update (which adds New Game Plus and an increased level cap) there may be another cause for excitement too. The beloved Assassin’s Creed Black Flag is, in my personal opinion, one of the best open-world games ever for the new direction it took the series in. Objectively, there are maybe a couple of AC games that are better, all things considered, but Black Flag is the one I look back on the most fondly. After months of rumors and leaks, it seems that a reveal of its rumored remaster could be right around the corner.

‘Playstation Game Size’ has made a name for themselves over the years for unearthing new products and game updates from the backend of the Playstation Network, and today they’re teasing something new in the world of Assassin’s Creed. In a post on X, they claim to have found a new product code tied to the series.

The dataminer assures that it’s nothing to do with Shadows’ imminent update or its Claws of Awaji DLC, and rules more distant projects like Assassin’s Creed Hexe and Jade, so the Black Flag remaster seems to be a leading candidate. There’s been a few teases and breadcrumbs that suggest this remaster is coming relatively soon, despite no official announcement from Ubisoft.

However, replying to Assassin’s Creed fans in their comments, Playstation Game Size speculates that this new product could also potentially be AC Invictus – a multiplayer project that was officially announced by Ubisoft many moons ago, but has never received a full reveal. Leakers claim that it will be an arcade-style, round-based game spanning a variety of game modes, and notable Ubisoft insider Tom Henderson has also claimed that Invictus could release this year.

As always with datamines and leaks, take all of the above with a grain of salt. Playstation Game Size has a decent track record, and I suspect they wouldn’t jump to the Assassin’s Creed conclusion without some solid evidence pointing towards it, but they may still be wide of the mark. If they’re correct, though, there could be good times ahead – whether it’s Invictus, the Black Flag remaster, or perhaps something completely new and unexpected, hopefully a reveal is not too far away.

  • VTuber Ironmouse leaves VShojo as she claims agency owes charity over $500,000

VTuber Ironmouse leaves VShojo as she claims agency owes charity over $500,000

Major virtual streamer, or VTuber, Ironmouse, is the next to leave agency VShojo. While others have left under seemingly “happier” circumstances, Ironmouse is claiming that the company owes her “a significant amount of funds”.

This appears to include an estimated $515,000 in charity funds for the Immune Deficiency Foundation. Ironmouse is mostly bed-bound, suffering from an immunodeficiency disease, hence why she uses the VTuber model.

In the 11-minute video, Ironmouse states that she has been instructed by her lawyer not to divulge too much. However, her surface-level elaboration on why she’s leaving partially comes down to her feeling the weight of the world on her shoulders, as she was, by far, one of the most popular members of VShojo.

At some point, she decided to take control of her finances and ran some “subathons”. These are streamer-led events on their chosen platform where they try to get as many subscribers as possible in a certain timeframe. Ironmouse ran a few, with VShojo sending any money over promptly. The last one, however, which raised the $515,000 in question, has still not been sent over a year later.

Ironmouse states she’s managed to raise $4 million for the charity, but has said that the situation has “broken” her.

What the hell is going on at VShojo?

This is the fourth name to leave the company in 2025, with several members still technically on the roster, now removing any mention of VShojo from their social media accounts.

One major member, Kson, who was previously with VTuber agency Hololive as Kiryu Coco, has begun to drum up fury on X, previously Twitter. She is set to go live in a few hours from writing, with a thumbnail that just reads:

“We need an explanation. Please answer VSHOJO.”

She followed it up with another post, claiming she didn’t get to speak to the person she needed to.

Other members of the VShojo roster are now pushing links to Ironmouse’s Tiltify link, which she uses for donations. Other members are insisting fans shouldn’t worry over them and thanking them for making their careers a success.

Zentreya, a mute VTuber who left just a few weeks ago, has also come out on X to state she can’t answer questions due to legal circumstances.

Ironmouse leaving and stars turning on agency bodes well

VShojo was set up in 2020 during the initial boom of VTubing on YouTube and Twitch during the pandemic. It has been fairly successful, allowing its talent to be themselves and feed into the slightly more adult tastes that come along with it.

In recent weeks, it’s clear that its “talent first” promise has been crumbling. Those leaving have been polite on the way out, but it appears that something has gone very wrong inside the agency.

  • MindsEye is a GTA/Cyberpunk-ish game about shooting AI robots, and its co-ceo claims there’s “concerted effort” involving evil bots to make people think it’s rubbish

MindsEye is a GTA/Cyberpunk-ish game about shooting AI robots, and its co-ceo claims there’s “concerted effort” involving evil bots to make people think it’s rubbish

Yesterday, Build A Rocket Boy – the studio helmed by Rockstar North president Leslie Benzies – showed off some gameplay from the GTA-ish, Cyberpunk-ish, FarCry map editor-ish action thriller MindsEye, which is set to let you shoot a bunch of evil AI robots. Now, BARB’s co-ceo has claimed that there’s a real life “concerted effort to trash the game and the studio” going on, involving evil bots.

Yep, he seemingly just suggested these things were the case via some responses to players on the game’s Discord server, as you’d expect an exec to casually do.

Mark Gerhard, the co-ceo in question, goes by the handle MMG in the server, and was asked during a bit of back and forth about the game with fans: “Do you think that all the people who reacted negatively were financed by someone?” He responded: “100%”

Naturally, folks were a bit taken aback by an exec at a studio seemingly suggesting negative reception for a game had been paid for in some fashion, but Gerhard went on to add: “doesn’t take much to guess who”. A user in the server was quick to comment: “a co-CEO for a studio implying another studio is paying previewers to talk negatively about your game is an absolutely wild comment to make in a public environment in any situation”, to which the exec replied: “Not wild when it’s true…..”

Fans and content creators in the server who’d expressed criticism of MindsEye or Build A Rocket Boy then started to question whether Gerhard might be talking about them, leading the co-ceo to respond to such questions being asked about a user with the handle Cyber Boi.

“Folks I never said Cyber Boi was being paid by anyone,” Gerhard wrote, “I just said that there is a concerted effort by some people that don’t want to see Leslie or Build A Rocket Boy to be successful that are making a concerted effort to trash the game and the studio. Its pretty easy to see the bots and the repeated replies to any content that we put out.”

GTA YouTuber GameRoll then asked him directly: “So just to clarify – you believe that individuals, be it content creators or otherwise, have been paid off to criticise Mindseye?” “No I never said that,” Gerhard responded, “I do KNOW that there are bot farms posting negative comments and dislikes.”

VG247 has reached out to Build A Rocket Boy and MindsEye publisher IO Interactive for comment.

  • Black Ops 7 leak claims limited-time events will be paywalled

Black Ops 7 leak claims limited-time events will be paywalled

07/05/25 A representative working on behalf of Activision has contacted PCGamesN directly to confirm that this leak is not true.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 is rumored to lock limited-time events, and the associated rewards, behind a battle pass paywall. That’s according to one recent leak and fans are, unsurprisingly, not happy about the possibility of having to pay to access these game modes.

It’s long been rumored that Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 is getting a sequel, one which picks up the story of Call of Duty: Black Ops 2. However, one leak suggests this as-yet-unannounced FPS game’s multiplayer mode could feature an unwelcome change.

Posting on X/Twitter, leaker The Ghost of Hope stated that Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 will feature more limited time events and game modes. Call of Duty: Black Ops 6’s events are a fun way of shaking things up, and they also offer exclusive player rewards. From Activision’s perspective, they help raise engagement with the game.

But, according to the leaker, Call of Duty: Black Ops 7’s limited time events and modes won’t be free. “The only way to play the LTMs will be to have the battle pass unlike how it’s currently free for everyone.” So, most if not all of these modes will allegedly be exclusive to battle pass purchasers.

A leak about Call of Duty: Black Ops 7.

The Ghost of Hope has been on the money before and, if true, this could lose Activision a lot of goodwill. Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 has mixed reviews on Steam, and fans have a lot to say about this alleged move.

Responses to the tweet range from skepticism through to boiling rage, some drawing comparisons between this alleged move and a recent Black Mirror episode. Your average Call of Duty player might not spend a fortune on battle passes and cosmetics, but if player numbers dwindle to such a point that the big spenders move away, Activision could have a problem.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 has yet to be officially announced, but if you’re playing the current entry, we’ve got the best BO6 weapons and the best BO6 loadouts.
