    The Escapist recaps

    • Trainers can prepare by taking part in the Dark Skies festivities during the weekdays prior.

    • Raids will feature Crowned Shield Zamazenta and Crowned Sword Zacian, as well as costumed event critters.

While Max Finale is a weekend event, there’s still plenty to look forward to on the weekdays that precede it.

Running from August 18-23, starting and finishing at 10 AM local time, the week before Max Finale is called Dark Skies. It will be a Dynamax bonanza, featuring every Dynamax Pokémon that’s made an appearance in Pokémon GO. This includes beloved starters like Bulbasaur but also Legendaries like Raicou, Suicune, and Entei.

There’ll also be plenty for raid fans to tear into, with both Zacian and Zamazenta appearing in 5-star raids throughout the week.

Also, Crowned Sword Zacian will appear on Thursday, August 21, from 6 PM until 7 PM, and Crowned Shield Zamazenta will appear at the same time on Friday, August 22.

Galarian Farfetch’d and Galarian Weezing will take the 3-star spot, while Sinistea will fill in the 1-star raid space.

Alongside the raids, trainers will see increased spawns for the Galar starters, Skwovet, and Wooloo. There’ll also be timed research to complete, offering Galar starter encounters and candy for both Zacian and Zamazenta, along with event bonuses that make it easier to take part at Power Spots.

Make sure you spend some time exploring during Dark Skies to prepare for Max Finale, and use the special code GOFESTMAX to claim timed research that’ll reward you with an encounter for any of the Galar starters in Gigantamax form.

Dark Skies should be a fun week, especially for fans of the Galarian region, but Max Finale is set to blow it out of the water.

Power Spots will be packed with Pokémon

One of the most exciting things about the Max Finale weekend is that every Gigantamax Pokémon ever seen in Pokémon GO will be popping up at Power Spots.

This includes the Galarian starters, Lapras, Gengar, and other fan-favorites. The first ‘mon on the schedule is Gigantamax Lapras (10 AM August 23) and the final one is Gigantamax Toxtricity (4 PM August 24) in its Low Key form.

Eternamax Eternatus will also be making an appearance at Power Spots throughout the weekend. You’ll be able to catch a regular Eternatus via the Pokémon GO Pass, but sadly, the Eternamax version will not be catchable.

It should still be an entertaining fight, though, and it’ll provide buckets of essential Eternatus candy to add to your item bag.

Two iconic Legendaries will be popping up in raids

During the Max Finale weekend, players will be able to take on Crowned Sword Zacian and Crowned Shield Zamazenta in 5-star raids. There’s even a chance of finding a Shiny variant of these iconic Legendaries as per the official site.

Costume collectors will be delighted with the other raids on offer. 3-star raids will feature Falinks in Training, which is a regular Falinks in a cute train costume. 1-star raids will feature Dapper Pikachu with red, blue, or yellow accents.

Players in rural locations will be able to take advantage of the remote raid cap being removed throughout the weekend.

Max Finale will be busy and lucrative

This upcoming event should be action-packed for both new and veteran players. While the Gigantamax critters and the Crowned raids will be the stars, the wild encounters are also worth paying attention to.

The Galar starters and the Kanto starters will have an increased chance of showing up, alongside Skwovet and Wooloo.

Kabuto, Omanyte, and Trubbish will also appear as field research encounters.

Finally, event bonuses will be live from 12 AM to 11:59 PM local time over the weekend.

These will provide double candy from catching Pokémon and double the chance of finding XL candy from catching Pokémon, along with a collection limit boost for Max Particles. Power Spots will also show up and refresh more frequently.

Pokémon GO Fest 2025: Max Finale is gearing up to be one of the most exciting events so far this year, with plenty of goodies on offer and iconic Pokémon to encounter. Make sure to take part in Dark Skies during the week days preceding the event to get the most out of the weekend.

    Ask The Escapist

Is Pokémon GO Fest 2025: Max Finale an in-person event?

This is an event that you can take part in by exploring your local area! During the event times, make sure to head out and battle at the nearby Gyms or Power Spots to take part.

Are there paid passes for this Pokémon GO event?

Yes, trainers who wish to nab extra rewards can purchase the GO Pass Deluxe: Max Finale boxes on the official web store – there are three to choose from, each offering further items and goodies to unlock during the event.

Can you catch Eternamax Eternatus during Max Finale?

Unfortunately, the Pokémon GO site notes that Eternamax Eternatus will not be available for capture after trainers beat it in a Max Battle. They will get plenty of Eternatus Candy and Eternatus Candy XL for their GO Pass Eternatus, though.

  • Blue Archive scraps obvious rule breaking Steam review event

Blue Archive scraps obvious rule breaking Steam review event

Blue Archive developers, Nexon Games, have canned their “Steam Review Event”, after someone probably gave them a heads up that Valve has explicit rules about manipulating Steam reviews. Announced over on Steam itself, the gacha strategy game has “decided to terminate the event early”, as it goes expressly against Steam’s terms of service.

While Steam’s review system, despite sometimes being used maliciously by players themselves, has strict guidelines on what not to do. Valve clearly states on its support site that, alongside threats and harassment, not to “coerce” players into leaving reviews.

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CphCwQJWR3Q

The event would have rewarded players with in-game rewards if it hit 10,000 reviews. Some gacha games will run events through iOS or Android versions that urge you to leave a review, complete a survey, or interact with social media for a prize. Oftentimes, you can simply hit whatever button, have the app think you’ve done it, and return without ever handing over your precious morals or data.

As pointed out by a user on the Gacha Gaming Reddit, it would have been smarter to simply give items out as and when milestones were hit.

Unfortunately, because Nexon has scrapped the event, it won’t be distributing the rewards in any capacity. It’s an odd statement as it is, as it reads as if no one on the team over at Nexon was even aware this wasn’t allowed.

This is even though they’ve been on Steam for quite some time, with MMOs Vindictus and MapleStory in 2012. They even have a direct partnership with Valve to run Counter-Strike Nexon. Baffling, to say the least.

Nexon didn’t even need to coerce reviews out of players

graph showing huge influx of reviews, slowly tapering off for blue archive between July 4 and July 11

Looking at the reviews themselves, it’s clear that coercion wasn’t even needed, as the game has been positively received by players. Since its launch on July 4, it has had a massive influx of 5700 reviews, which has naturally dipped to a few hundred in the following week. Reviews claim that it’s running great, and cross-saves work just fine, allowing addicts to continue their self-inflicted gacha torture.

Some negative reviews have pointed out that it is running kernel-level anti-cheat, similar to Riot Games’ Valorant. However, it sits pretty at a “Very Positive” rating on Steam as of writing and doesn’t look like that’ll change anytime soon.

Blue Archive is a multi-million-dollar gacha money generator

blue archive screenshot of attacking enemies

If you’re wondering what Blue Archive even is, it’s a 2021 gacha game that regularly brings in millions of dollars. In 2023, it was reported to have made well over $400 million in total, and presumably, that number has climbed exponentially. It also makes a lot of its money in the heartland of gacha gaming, Japan. Reports from last year pointed out that Japan provides 72% of the game’s revenue in total.

Blue Archive manages this through its various microtransactions and that key gacha system. It stems from gachapon, the little toys that you’d pop a quarter in for and get a random piece of plastic. Similarly, gacha games run “banners”, which the player “pulls” from and is awarded a random character, skin, item, or whatever else is being flogged.

When I gave it a spin on launch in 2021, I was taken for a little bit by its snappy action and tactics-lite focus. Now it’s hit Steam, maybe it’s time to dip back into it, if only those anime racing horse girls didn’t absorb so much of my time recently.

The Marvel Rivals Season 3 roadmap is here with, yes, a summer swimsuit event

The Marvel Rivals Season 3 roadmap is here, and we finally have official confirmation of the much-anticipated summer swimsuit event. Yes, Netease has heard your cries, and you’ll be able to kit your favorite superheroes out in all manner of fancy beachwear in just over a week’s time. Of course, there’s much more on the cards for the multiplayer hero shooter, with the introduction of next playable hero Phoenix, another map, and an event featuring a free Storm costume.

Kicking off on Friday July 11, the third season of Marvel Rivals will introduce Phoenix on launch day; we’ll have to wait until the 3.5 update for the previously confirmed arrival of Blade, however, which is tentatively listed as Friday August 8. Also landing at the beginning of Season 3 is new domination map Klyntar: Celestial Husk. This new location is best known as the origin point of the symbiote, furthering theories that elder god Knull will be the newest big bad in one of our best multiplayer games.

  • [🐝] Bizzy Bees Swarm Event Guide for Grow A Garden – How to Get Honey, Pets, and New Seeds

[🐝] Bizzy Bees Swarm Event Guide for Grow A Garden – How to Get Honey, Pets, and New Seeds

The most recent update to Grow A Garden introduces a seasonal feature called Bizzy Bees. As the name implies, the patch revolves around bee-inspired content, including new varieties of seeds, additional pets, unique mutations, and a limited-time event centered on bees. For those who are unfamiliar with the game or uncertain about how the event works, this Grow A Garden Bizzy Bees Swarm Event guide will clarify everything.

All New Pets in the Bizzy Bees Update in Grow A Garden

The Bizzy Bees Update introduces five additional pets to Grow A Garden. Each of them offers benefits associated with the newly introduced Pollinated and Honey-glazed mutations.

    Pet Rarity Passives
    Bee Uncommon
    (65%)
Every 24 minutes and 37 seconds, it travels to a nearby fruit and triggers the Pollinated mutation by pollinating it.
    Honey Bee Rare
    (25%)
    A slightly better Bee.
    Bear Bee Mythical
    (5%)
Once every 25 minutes, it approaches a nearby plant and grants its fruit the Honey Glaze mutation.
    Petal Bee Legendary
    (4%)
Every 24 minutes and 37 seconds, it gently pollinates a nearby fruit, giving it the Pollinated mutation. There’s also a small 1.29% chance that flower-type fruits will stick around even after you harvest them.
    Queen Bee Divine
    (1%)
Every 24 minutes and 26 seconds, it works its magic by pollinating a nearby fruit, giving it the Pollinated mutation. On top of that, it also helps out your pets by refreshing one of their cooldowns every 29 minutes and 26 seconds.

To add these pets to your collection, you’ll need to pick up a Bee Egg from the Honey Shop, which you can find right in the middle of the playing area.

All New Seeds in the Bizzy Bees Update in Grow A Garden

The new Pets are cool, but the new Seeds and Plants might be even cooler. Hive Fruit and Nectarine can be bought in the Honey Shop with the Honey you called, but there is also a new Seed Pack:

Similar to the Hive Fruit and Nectarine, the Seed Pack can be purchased for honey in the Honey Shop. It will cost you 10 Honey, and it usually comes in stock of 1 or 2. The most profitable flower is obviously the Sunflower, but it is quite hard to get. If you are looking to make a profit, settling for a Pink Lily or the Purple Dahlia is the most economical option.

    Flower Rarity
    Rose Uncommon
    (40%)
    Foxglove Rare
    (25%)
    Lilac Rare
    (20%)
    Pink Lily Mythical
    (10%)
    Purple Dahlia Legendary
    (4.5%)
    Sunflower Divine
    (0.5%)

All Cosmetic Items in the Bizzy Bees Update

The Bizzy Bees Event brings a bunch of new cosmetic items to help you spruce up your garden with some extra charm. To get your hands on them, just check out the Honey Crate area inside the Honey Shop.

In addition to those goodies, there are three more decorative items you can pick up from the Honey Shop: the Bee Chair, Honey Torch, and Honey Walkway. They’re perfect for adding a sweet touch to your garden setup, and they have a fixed cost, so you don’t need to take a chance on getting them.

    Item How to Get Rarity/Price
Honey Comb Honey Store 3 Honey
Bee Chair Honey Store 5 Honey
Honey Torch Honey Store 5 Honey
Honey Walkway Honey Store 10 Honey
    Honey Pot Bee Crate Rare
    (26%)
    BeeHive Bee Crate Rare
    (21%)
    Honey Barrel Bee Crate Rare
    (21%)
    Honey Pillar Bee Crate Mythical
    (16%)
    Bee Podium Bee Crate Mythical
    (11%)
    Honey Fountain Bee Crate Legendary
    (5%)

How to get the Pollinated Mutation in Grow A Garden

You can unlock the Pollinated mutation for your plants during the Swarm Event, which takes place every hour in-game. It works a lot like the earlier Moonlit and Bloodlit events. Once the event starts, bees will leave their nest and spend the whole time pollinating nearby plants on their own. The Pollinated Plant will have a Golden glow around it, and you will be able to see it through other plants.

How to get Honey in Grow A Garden

In Grow A Garden, you can collect Honey by gathering pollinated crops and placing them into the Honey Combpressor machine located in the center of the map. The machine will turn your fruits into Honey, which you can then use to buy different pets and seeds at the Honey Shop, run by the Queen Bee in the same central area. You need to bring 10 KG of Pollinated Plants in order to get 10 Honey. Once you put 10 KG of Pollinated Plants into the Honey Combpressor, they will be processed for 3 minutes, and then you can receive your well-earned Honey.

All Honey Shop Items in the Bizzy Bees Update

The Honey Shop is a charming market where you can purchase honey, bee-themed decorations, Plants, and more. Not all items are available at the same time. Please check regularly to see what is currently in stock. Sometimes it’s the Cosmetics, sometimes it’s the Crates and Eggs, you never know.

Below is a list of all Items in the Honey Store, along with their price:

    Item Price
    Flower Seed Pack 10 Honey
    Nectarine Seed 40 Honey
    Hive Fruit Seed 40 Honey
    Honey Sprinkler TBD
    Bee Egg 18 Honey
    Bee Crate 10 Honey
    Honey Comb 3 Honey
    Honey Chair 5 Honey
    Honey Torch 5 Honey
    Honey Walkway 10 Honey

All of the items are fairly priced, as getting Honey is fairly easy with a good garden. The Honey Sprinkler is not available in the game yet, and does not have a price at this time.

That is all for my Grow A Garden Bizzy Bees Swarm Event Guide. Check out our Grow A Garden Trading Value List to see which plants you can sell for the biggest profit.

  • How could you best run a limited event with only random bulk?

I have over 2k of bulk cards that are a hassle to store. I’ve heard that I could donate them, but these cards are in English and where I live most kids/teens don’t speak the language. I’ve heard to sell them for like 10 bucks on eBay, but that just seems like a waste.

Instead I wonder if there isn’t a more fun and creative way to get rid of them. I want to run a limited event in which my friends can just make a fun deck and bring the cards home. If you were going to run such an event, how would you do it?

Here is what I’ve considered so far:

    1. My first thought was to make a cube, but there are too many cards to sort, enter into some collection app and then to find a way to create a cube. It would be a nightmare.
    2. My second idea was to do a draft, where we shuffle everything and make packs out of the cards(maybe bigger packs than 15 to make up for the randomness), but I just ran a draft in which people got 4 packs, and my friends complained it is hard to parse a strategy when you have that many cards.
    3. My last idea was to do a big sealed draw. Basically put all the cards into a bag and you draw the equivalent of 6 packs(90 cards) and then you have to make a deck. I think this helps with the problem of parsing all of the cards, because you should be able to pile them by colour and not consider a good part of them, but then you are still left with a lot of useless bulk in a way that draft kinda solves.

For all of these ideas I’m also afraid it will he very difficult to make a strategy coalesce.

Did anyone try to do something like this before? If so, what do you suggest?

Here is my current idea for how to run the event. I will keep it up to date as your answers and comments help me refine it:

    1. Ask all my friends to bring their own trash bulk they don’t want(so this event will also work as a sort of exchange)
    2. Sort all the cards into a single mythics/rares land/color fixers and chase/signpost pile, the rest get sorted by color
    3. Randomize all the cards in each pile and deal a certain number for each player(not sure how many yet)
    4. Do a mythics/rare draft to start with, to help players find a strategy
    5. All players get to choose 2 colors and get the equivalent of two boosters for each
    6. Do a second mythic/rare draft to refine the strategy
    7. Do a second "sealed" pick where you choose 2 colors again and get two sealed packs
    8. At the end the players will have the equivalent of 6 packs and some good control over what they got

    Anime Power Easter 2025 Enemies

The Easter 2025 Event in Anime Power introduces a bunch of new enemies to fight, but actually beating them is a challenge. As you start with zero power, you have to climb your way back up again in order to defeat them. But defeating them yields some very good rewards, so it is worth it.

    Easter Island Enemy List

Below is a complete and detailed list of all new enemies on the Easter Island:

    Enemy Health
Marara Enemy from the Anime Power Easter 2025 Event
    Marara
    Extremely Easy
    23,100,000,000,000 HP
    (23.1 Tr)
Obico Enemy from the Anime Power Easter 2025 Event
    Obico
    Easy
    2,310,000,000,000,000 HP
    (2.31 Qq)
Sta Roza Enemy from the Anime Power Easter 2025 Event
    Sta Roza
    Medium
    231,000,000,000,000,000 HP
    (231 Qd)
Jigen Enemy from the Anime Power Easter 2025 Event
    Jigen
    Hard
    831,000,000,000,000,000 HP
    (831 Qd)
Brola Enemy from the Anime Power Easter 2025 Event
    Brola
    Insane
    53,100,000,000,000,000,000 HP
    (53.1 Sx)

Some of these have a ludicrous amount of health for a normal enemy, so we recommend trying to kill them with some friends or other players who are on the island at the same time as you.

    Easter Island Boss

There is, of course, a Boss. To find the Boss Arena, you have to follow the right path that you will see right after you spawn. After a few Marara fights on the Easter Island, you reach a blue Portal. Entering the portal will teleport you to the Soruke Boss arena.

The Boss of the Easter Island is Saruke, a behemoth with an unbelievable amount of HP: 20,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000 HP. Beating him usually requires 3-6 people fighting at the same time, unless you are a god of Anime Power and can solo it. After defeating him, you will have a chance to get one of his drops:

    • Easter Egg Necklace – 15%
    • Bunny Mask – 5%
    • Easter Bunny Hat – 1%

    Anime Power Easter 2025 Champions

As usual, the Easter Event brings us new Champions for which we can roll. They are, on average, better than their same-level counterparts from the base game. There is one that is the goal of everyone rolling: Vegega. He has a measly 0.034% drop chance, so if you want him, be ready to grind this area.

    Easter Island Champions List

Below is a complete and detailed list of all the new Champions available on the Easter Island:

Champion Normal Luck Rarity High Luck Rarity Power
    Namm 57.4% 42.9% 45
    Sarura 26% 26.5% 60
    Jivaya 13% 19.9% 110
    Melioras 2.78% 7.67% 130
    Ichito 0.653% 2.66% 150
    Vegega 0.034% 0.197% 180

How do I Leave Easter Island?

After you finish farming or you get everything you want, you can head back to the Base Game. To return, you need to find the ‘Back‘ gate. It is located on the left side of the spawn, and it teleports you back to the Shinobi World. If you don’t feel like walking or are in a hurry, you can also press the Teleport button and select where you would like to go.

And that is all for our Anime Power Easter 2025 Guide. Check out our Anime Power Codes article to grab some freebies and goodies that can help you progress the Easter Event more easily.

  • New Star Citizen free event is the perfect chance to play big MMO and space game

New Star Citizen free event is the perfect chance to play big MMO and space game

Star Citizen has taken on almost mythic proportions over the years. Its creator, eager to outdo the visions of outer space offered by games like Eve Online, No Man’s Sky, and Starfield, has been working on fleshing out a wildly ambitious MMO simulation for more than a decade now, even as other projects in its wheelhouse come and go. Given how long the game has been in active production, though, it can be hard for interested players to know when to give Star Citizen a shot. Luckily, there’s no better time than now, since a current ‘free fly’ event makes it easier than ever to give the game a look.

Star Citizen can be a bit daunting to approach, especially given how dense its take on the space game genre has become over time. The ideal way to dip into it is through one of its free trial events, which not only provide missions for new players to situate themselves in its sprawling world, but don’t cost anything to try.

The current free fly event allows anyone to check out Star Citizen by signing up for an account and downloading the game for free. After completing its introductory missions, players can sample some of the activities available in the massively multiplayer space sim, piloting a roster of six different ships or heading out on foot to explore the game’s far future setting. It’s a great opportunity for anyone curious to see what the space sim is all about, or to check in on how it’s been coming along over the many years it’s been available to the public.
