Stylish soulslike Wuchang Fallen Feathers is already on sale before launch

While we’re hardly lacking great soulslikes, Wuchang: Fallen Feathers looks to put its own fresh spin on the increasingly well-explored formula. With a bleak yet layered story that blends dark fantasy with rich Chinese folklore and history, developer Leenzee’s rock-hard RPG drops later this month, and you can get a chunky pre-order discount right now over on Fanatical.

Like many of the best soulslikes, Wuchang: Fallen Feathers delivers stamina-based combat that demands precise dodging and skillful use of your abilities. According to Leenzee, it’s also a pretty meaty game with side quests galore that combined should take you 40-60 hours to wrap.

There are five weapon types to choose from and 25 unique options in total, including one-handed swords, axes, spears, dual blades, and war clubs. You can even equip two weapons at once while throwing around some of the game’s several dozen spells.

In our Wuchang: Fallen Feathers preview, Jamie says, “[Wuchang: Fallen Feathers] is doing plenty to stand out from the ever-growing crowd.” Specifically, what sets it apart is the unique Madness system, driven by the supernatural Feathering Disease. Damage and death fuel your corruption – each increase in Madness boosts your power, but strips away your defenses. Once you reach peak corruption, dying summons an Inner Demon: a formidable doppelganger guarding your lost resources. It’s a compelling risk-reward mechanic that adds tension and strategy.

Wuchang: Fallen Feathers arrives on Thursday, July 24, 2025, and you can pre-order it for $38.99 over at Fanatical right now. That’s a 22% discount. If you pre-order, you’ll get two costume sets, a Vermillion War Club, and a Glistening Red Mercury upgrade item.

  • WoW Mists of Pandaria Classic finally gets a launch date, and it’s not far off

WoW Mists of Pandaria Classic finally gets a launch date, and it’s not far off

World of Warcraft has been around for a long, long time now and, as a result, its players are likely to have different opinions on their favorite eras of the game, that timeline punctuated by the launch of expansions ranging from The Burning Crusade through to The War Within. Most agree, though, that 2012’s Mists of Pandaria marks a high point for the long-running MMO, which has made its addition to WoW Classic eagerly anticipated. Today, Blizzard has announced that it won’t be much longer before the expansion is ready to play in something close to its original form once again.

The revamped, throwback version of World of Warcraft has steadily added in each expansion present in the original MMORPG since its 2019 launch. Now, Mists of Pandaria Classic is nearly here, providing a solid opportunity to return to the expansion or play it for the first time.

As before, the expansion brings players to the previously isolated lands of Pandaria, with the new characters and plotlines the setting contains. In the lead up to its full launch, a pre-expansion patch is set to arrive, bringing with it the ability to create a Pandaren character, use the Monk hero class, and earn the Shaohao’s Sage Serpent Skyriding mount to bring into regular WoW. Players can use the Joyous Journeys experience buff until this pre-patch launches if they’re in a hurry to reach level 85 in time for Mists of Pandaria. There’s also a pet battling minigame, reworked classes and loot gathering, as well as the Theramore’s Fall world event designed to serve as a prologue for the full expansion’s storyline.

World of Warcraft: Mists of Pandaria Classic launches on Monday July 21, 2025. The pre-patch arrives the week of Tuesday July 1, 2025.

  • The final Dune Awakening beta before launch is now live, as thousands flock to the sands to mine iron and stab each other

The final Dune Awakening beta before launch is now live, as thousands flock to the sands to mine iron and stab each other

The final Dune Awakening beta is now live, which will allow thousands of fresh-faced players to hop into Funcom’s open world survival MMO for the first time. This beta, which is running over the weekend, will cover the first two major zones of the game, giving folks a peek at the early game experience.

The beta, announced following the release date of the game being pushed back to June 10, is running a few days before the previous date of May 15. A balm to those still burned by the delay, and the last opportunity people will get to check out the game for free.

This is also the first time your average gamer will get a chance to learn about the game. Our own preview of the early game went live last month, and was largely positive overall. However this preview – which covers the same scope of content that’ll be available in this weekend’s beta – still left us with many questions on what the game will ultimately be building up to in its end-game – a portion that has been discussed by the team, but not shown off to a great extent.

In order to get into this beta, players will have to either wishlist the game on Steam and wait for access to be sent their way via email, or get access via developer giveaways. Access has already been handed out to folks, but it’s not out of the question that more people will be let in over the weekend. So keep an eye out if you’re keen to give it a try, and maybe throw a wishlist on the game for a chance. You never know, you may get lucky!

Are you going to try the game out this weekend? Let us know below, as well as whether or not you’re excited for Dune Awakening!
