It’s been about ten years since I’ve participated in a – last for me –
Magic Tournament.
Back then, in addition to the first, historic, and important guidelines—
though perhaps now partly obsolete—
to follow if a player drew seven lands
(the “All Land Mulligan”)
or seven spells
(the “All Spell Mulligan”)
there was talk of a new, specific rule.
This “Rule” stipulated that, regardless of the cards actually drawn, a player could decide not to accept the set of seven cards just drawn, preferring instead to reshuffle the deck and draw six new cards, adding the option of using the
Scry:1
ability,with the possibility to even choose again not to accept the 6 cards, and reshuffle,taking instead a new 5 card set with Scry:2, and so on…
Now I ask you this:

Does this “Rule”, which I’ve never figured out whether it was an Official Mtg Rule, or used only on a limited and internal basis –
that is, only by members of a certain Magic Club —
this “Rule” actually exist?
If all these questions are answered in the negative, do you think it’s a reasonable rule?
And finally:
- What is the Mulligan Rule currently in use in Official Magic Tournaments?
